User account creation#

A TeSS instance is viewable by everyone, you do not need to register to search or browse for materials. The materials that TeSS points to may be restricted-access, but the registry itself is open.

Register by email address#

If you want to register your materials, you can register with your email address and create a username of your choice.

To register for TeSS using your email address:

  1. In the top menu, click ‘Log In’, then click ‘Register’.

  2. Enter the username you wish to create, your email address, and a new password.

  3. Confirm you are not a robot, and agree to the privacy policy.

  4. Click the ‘Register’ button.

Alternative registration methods#

Some instances of TeSS support additional authentication methods. ELIXIR TeSS support LS Login, an authentication service of the European Life Science Research Infrastructures. You can use your institutional login to access multiple services.

To register for ELIXIR TeSS using your LS Login:

  1. In the top menu, click ‘Log In’, then click ‘Register’.

  2. Click the ‘LS Login’ button.

  3. Sign into LS Login using your institutional login.

  4. When you are returned to TeSS, enter the username you wish to create.

  5. Complete the instructions on screen.
